According to the provisions of the Corporate Income Tax Act and the Act on the Income Taxation of Physical Persons, the incomes generated by local and foreign legal and physical persons from transactions with shares of open-end investment companies that are carried out on a regulated Bulgarian securities market, are not taxed. This also applies to the proceeds from the sale of open-end investment companies' shares.

KD Pelikan is a balanced type of investment company; it invests the monetary funds of its shareholders into various types of securities as specified by law: 50% shares, 50% bonds, up to 50% of the assets shall be invested in securities approved for trading on a regulated stock market in Bulgaria as well as on internationally recognised and liquidity regulated markets of securities abroad, up to 70% of the assets shall be invested in securities issued or guaranteed by the government of the Bulgarian National Bank, as well as qualified debt securities issued or guaranteed by other governments, central banks or international organisations. At least 10% of the assets shall be invested in overliquidity instruments- cash, undated or up to 90 days bank deposits and securities with outstanding due-to-maturity not more than 90 days.
